A large floral brooch in the Art Nouveau tradition, signed Reinad, a house that produced comparatively little and is correspondingly hard to find. In a silver-tone finish, it uses lush ruby red and opaque acorn-style fruit salad glass cabochons to build the flower, then finishes it with crystal rhinestone. The pleasure of it is in the curves and the layering: this was not stamped flat and decorated, it was assembled to have real depth. Excellent condition, which is genuinely remarkable for a piece likely made in the 1930s or 1940s and now seventy to eighty years old. It measures 2.25 inches wide by 4 inches tall.
