Apollo Speaks

On this piece

An early 1940s Crown Trifari patriotic eagle in vermeil over sterling, set with sapphire blue baguette rhinestones, crystal rhinestones, and a faceted ruby red rhinestone at the center — red, white and blue, made in the years when the house had turned to silver because base metals were rationed for the war. On condition we would rather be plain than flattering: it is good vintage, and much of the original gold wash is gone. That is common on these pieces and part of how they age, but you should know it before you buy. It is signed on the reverse with the Crown Trifari mark and Sterling, along with the number 20, which is the stonesetter's number. It measures 2.25 inches wide by 1 1/8 inches tall.
