A sculptural sterling cuff in the modernist manner, and the engineering is the thing here: the way so many stones are cut and fitted into their respective positions across the curve is superb work, the kind that requires a maker who is also a problem-solver. The bracelet carries two marks, neither easy to read. The larger looks like EI or EL; the very small one reads as either a symbol or a boxed M above an R. Our best guess is that this was a collaboration between two artisans, which both the design and the craftsmanship suggest. It is a size 6.25, measuring 2 1/8 inches from inside edge to inside edge, approximately 1.75 inches at its widest point, with a rear opening of 1.5 inches. Excellent condition.
